Rust and Wildflowers is a sapphic love story set against the beauty of the American Southwest. Currently I have written two versions of a short vignette featuring the main couple, Ash and June, bound as a reversible book. On one side, is Ash a blue-collar rancher, who is burdened by duty. Flip the book, for June an heiress raised in privilege, charm. When these two worlds collide, what blooms between them is tender, messy, and wildly alive. Told in mirrored perspectives, this dual narrative peels back layers of class, identity, and the kind of love that takes root in the unlikeliest soil.
